A Night of Twisted TalesJump into July with fun activities for the entire family!

Aurora Theatre offers a plethora of theatrical pastimes for children and adults alike all month long. Whether it's laughing along at Aurora Comedy Nights, learning what it takes to put on a production with Aurora Theatre Academy's summer camps or enjoying one of the theatre's inspired productions, like the smash-hit musical Memphis, beat the summer heat with metro-Atlanta's premier theatre!

20th Anniversary Peach State Federal Credit Union Signature Series Opener: Memphis July 23- August 30, 2015

Jive along to the brassy beats of Beale Street in 1950s Memphis, where the birthplace of rock 'n' roll reels in an aspiring R&B DJ, who just happens to be white, to spark change in the deep South. Bringing powerhouse numbers to the suburban Atlanta stage, Aurora Theatre debuts the regional premiere of the hit-musical sensation Memphis, playing July 23- August 30, 2015! A co-production with Theatrical Outfit, this tuneful tale is sure to strike a chord with music lovers of all ages!

July Special Programming:

Prelude to the 4th: Camelot Friday, July 3 at 7 p.m.

The City of Lawrenceville will host its 10th annual Prelude to the 4th event on the eve of Independence Day! The evening will include the Broadway classic Camelot, performed by Aurora Theatre, followed by a stunning fireworks display. Admission is FREE - lawn seating opens at 5 p.m. with the performance beginning at 7 p.m. Reserved seating is available for tables of six and may be purchased for $125 through July 3! A Night of Twisted Tales Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 at 8 p.m.

Aurora Theatre hosts The Weird Sisters Theatre Project for their production of A Night of Twisted Tales, featuring an evening of brand-spanking-new short plays where classic fairy tales collide with the modern female! Audiences will enjoy eight never-before-seen new works by nationally recognized playwrights and up-and-coming local Atlanta writers Katie Causey, Annie Harrison Elliott, Daryl Fazio, Rachel Frawley, Lauren Gunderson, Deborah Zoe Laufer, Wendy MacLeod and Anna Ziegler! Tickets are $15 per person.

Aurora Theatre Comedy Nights Friday, July 17 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.; Saturday, July 18 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday, July 31 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.; Saturday, August 1 at 7:15 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.

Since 2007, Aurora Theatre has been hosting the best local and national comedians at Aurora Comedy Nights. On Friday, July 17 and Saturday, July 19, headliner and audience favorite Big Kenney will wow crowds with his zesty brand of reality-based humor and storytelling! Wrapping up the month with his laugh-out-loud routine Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1 is headliner Steve "The Nice Guy" Mingolla. With television commercials and appearances on TNN, Comedy Central and Liars and Legends, Mingolla's comedic flair will have audiences begging for more! With no drink minimum, Aurora Comedy Nights is the perfect night out! Tickets are $18 per person for each performance.

Pizza & Punchlines Friday, July 24 from 6-8:30 p.m.

A knockdown, drag out improv party, Pizza and Punchlines is perfect for middle and high school students! The night will include improv games and technique, as well as delicious pizza! Admission is $25 per person.

Lawrenceville Ghost Tours Select July dates: July 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31 at 8:30 p.m.

Who's in the mood for a scare? A chill down your spine that rocks you to the core kind of scare, that is! Take a stroll through downtown Lawrenceville with real stories and even spookier real places. Tickets are $12 per adult and $9 per child.

Aurora Theatre Academy Summer Camps Elementary School (Grades 1-5)

Camp Aurora gives students the opportunity to spend a week at the theatre, where they can learn what it takes to put on a performance! This production class will provide students with valuable stage experience, all the while encouraging teamwork and collaboration with peers and instilling a sense of self-confidence. In these half-day sessions, participants will get experience in creating portions of the sets, costumes and props for these entertaining, whirlwind productions presented to family and friends. Tuition per student is $200.

Mini: Grades 1-3:

· Monday, July 6- Friday, July 10 - Robin Hood, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

· Monday, July 13- Friday, July 17 - Title TBA, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Master: Grades 4-5:

· Monday, July 6- Friday, July 10 - Tales of the Singing Pirates, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

· Monday, July 13- Friday, July 17 - Title TBA, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Middle and High School (Grades 6-12)

The Acting Edge Camp Monday - Friday, July 6-17; 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Acting Edge Camp explores the craft of acting through various styles: Stanislavski, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, Improvisation classes and more! This two-week camp will culminate with a Showcase of scenes and sketches in our Studio Theatre for friends and family to come see! Tuition per student is $500.

The Guerilla Theatre Camp Monday - Friday, July 13-17; 10:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Guerrilla Theatre Camp breaks the boundaries of the stage and brings theatre to students in fun and innovative ways! Students will learn many of the styles that shatter the convention of the fourth wall from Commedia dell'Arte to Improv Comedy and even flash mobs! You would have to be "bananas" to miss out on Guerrilla Theatre! Tuition per student is $300.
