Theatrical Outfit Presents The Guys

The GuysTheatrical Outfit, downtown's artistic jewel, kicks off it's 36th season next week with the opening of The Guys, starring Jasmine Guy and Brian Kurlander. Opening night is Saturday, September 14, 7:30 p.m. curtain; previews performances are September 11 (appropriately), 12, and 13. This intimate, true story is brought to life by the powerhouse veteran of stage and screen Jasmine Guy; and Atlanta favorite, and recently seen at the Outfit in Fly, Brian Kurlander.

ABOUT THE GUYS
Joan, an editor, receives an unexpected phone call from Nick, a fire captain. He requests her help on composing the eulogies he'll deliver at memorial services for the many men he lost on 9/11. As the afternoon wanes, a friendship grows. The unlikely duo navigates the emotional landscape of grief, drawing on humor, healing, and their common humanity. Based on playwright Nelson's own story.

"A courageous and riveting play that tackles the horror of September 11th with an intimacy that's both unsettling and healing." -Christian Science Monitor
