Written by the Academy Award-winning writer of Moonlight, In The Red and Brown Water is an intoxicating story that charts a young girl's thrust into womanhood and her subsequent fall into the murky waters of life. Forced to choose between an athletic scholarship that could change her life and the needs of her dying mother, Oya finds herself torn between settling down and just settling. Inspired by playwright Tarell McCraney's interest in Yoruban mythology and his own childhood in the Miami projects, In the Red and Brown Water comes to Marietta's New Theatre in the Square.
