Pulitzer-winning playwright David Mamet's political comedy November is particularly timely during this election year. Mamet, who authored the Tony-nominated dramas Glengarry Glen Ross and Speed-the-Plow, sinks all his considerable verbal skill into skewering the current political scene in November. With days to go until the presidential election, all the polls indicate that incumbent Charles Smith is going to wind up a one-term president. While his staff and even his wife have given up hope and begun preparing for their post-White House existence, Chuck isn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. During the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon, President Smith is inspired to make a bold gambit and risk it all in hopes of winning back the support of the American people. This darkly humorous satire of our political process is coming to the Webber Stage at OnStage Atlanta.
