Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years
Roswell Cultural Arts Center
950 Forrest Street Roswell, GA 30075
In celebration of Black History Month, the Georgia Ensemble Theatre performs this stage play based on a fascinating true story. Sadie and Bessie Delany have seen it all in the more than 100 years of their lives. These African-American sisters were born in the years after the Civil War to a former slave and his wife. As they cook a dinner in remembrance of their father's birthday, they talk about their incredible journey through life. The play chronicles U.S. history through the eyes of these two great women as they look not only at the past, but also into the 21st century. This production of Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center stars Donna Biscoe and Brenda Porter.
